Our first 'No-Dig' vegetable beds

No-Dig - Find out more......

The concept of a No-Dig garden has been around for decades, if not longer. Certainly since the 1940s there have been modern pioneers of this method of gardening by many different individuals, some recorded, and perhaps, many who have been lost in time. One of the earliest books published on this subject was 'Plowman's Folly', from 1943, by Edward Faulkner of Ohio, America.  He suggested that their had never been any scientific evidence for using the plow as opposed to introducing Organic matter to the top of the soil instead of buying it with the Plow.
