As February moves on to its end amidst the wild weather that has been thrown at us, it is
somewhat difficult to motivate ourselves to the fact that Spring is just around the corner. But it is on its way and very welcome too once it arrives.
So, a new update for all our followers of the stables.
As you may all know, Paul has been poorly for some time now and the culprit was an Intusuccepting Colon. Where the colon grows in on itself.
After a few scans and investigations, the problem was identified by the excellent NHS services in Cornwall.
Paul went in for major surgery on Wednesday 12th February to remove part of his colon and the offending bit that was causing the problem.
We are pleased to say that the operation was a complete success and without incident, and furthermore, the results show that no more treatment is necessary or required. So Paul has been given a clean bill of health and once the operation has healed there will be no further problems. So you can bet Loraine has a huge list of chores ready for Paul to get on with once recovered after about 6-8 weeks of recuperation.
As mentioned previously the weather has been very windy and very wet. Though it would seem that this is a nationwide event rather than a local one. That aside, preparations for the new growing season have finally started with Loraine planting some seeds in the growing room and they are resting on the heated sand tray.
We are going to have to be clever with the growing space this year and we have as yet, limited growing beds to raise our crops. Still, we have more than last year when we moved to Cornwall so we shall overcome any hindrances.
More later…….
